On our whale and dolphin watching trips in Pembrokeshire we also take you to see the Gannet colony on the RSPB island of Grassholm, home to the 2nd largest Gannet colony in the Northern hemisphere.
There are over 39,000 breeding pairs of Gannets on Grassholm Island.

14th May    2 pods of common dolphins, about 140 in total, lots of females with young.  Grassholm gannet coloney
                  was spectacular.  Saw a large of variety of seabirds, puffins, shearwaters, guillimots, razorbills. 
20th May    20 to 30 common dolphins swiming with the boat for quite some time.  Grassholm gannet coloney
                  was spectacular.  Lots of Atlantic Grey Seals, puffins, shearwaters, guillimots, razorbills. 
20th May    Porpoise, Atlantic Grey Seals, lots of gannet activity on Grassholm and offshore.  Plenty of puffins,
                  and shearwaters. 
28th May    Basking Shark about 18 ft long back and forth underneath the boat and swimming along the side of the
                  boat for a while.  100's of common dolphins, lots of females with young. Gannets, Puffins, shearwaters,
                  guillimots, razorbills.   whale watching in pembrokeshire
29th May    3 Orca swimming with the boat, the male Orca, named John Coe is a regular visitor to the area and had
                  been seen by the passengers on Ocean Ranger for the past 3 years.  John Coe was travelling with two
                  females this year although he has been seen travelling with 8 females and young in the past so other
                  orca may have been in the area.   30 to 40 common dolphins, swimming and bow riding in front of the
                  boat.
30th May    Large feeding frenzie of gannets and shearwaters.  Porpoise and atlantic grey seals
31st May    2 pods of common dolphins, about 40 in each pod, some youngsters.  Lots of puffins.
1st June    3 pods of common dolphins, largest pod 100+.  About 12 porpoise and a feeding frenzie of gannets
                  and shearwaters. 
2nd June    1 Basking Shark, 1 Orca and 100's of common dolphins 
3rd June    Basking Shark and 2 pods of common dolphins, about 20 per pod 
3rd June    Grassholm gannet coloney very spectacular, plenty of Puffins and Shearwaters and atlantic Grey Seals 
9th June    100's of common dolphins, some bow riding in front of the boat for a long time.  Lots of variety of
                  seabirds,
10th June   2 pods of common dolphins, about 60 in total, females with young.  lots of puffins, shearwaters,
                  guillimots, razorbills. 
11th June   2 Porpoise, lots of seals and Puffins
14th June   Between 20 and 40 common dolphins, lots of puffins and seals 

14th June   Minki Whale, breached the surface a couple of  times
                  before dissappearing.  10 to 20 common dolphins,
                  puffins and 100's of shearwaters feeding on the fish

15th June   About 9 Rissos Dolphins swimming, bow riding
                   and jumping around the boat for about 20 mins
                   putting on a great display then lots of common
                  dolphins came over to see what was happening.

28th Sept  100's common dolphin, lots of seals and pups, porpoise lots of feeding gannets
29th Sept   4 Minke whale and a calf sighted in the morning although we never saw them on our trip in the
                  afternoon, 100's of common dolphin again and Grassholm Island with the gannets is still just as
                  spectacular, plenty of seals and pups, 1 Great Skua, 1 Pomarine Skua, 6 Common Scoter, 3 Sooty
                  Shearwater
