RAMSEY ISLAND  SPECIAL

Join us on a trip around the RSPB reserve of Ramsey Island. This fantastic marine wildlife tour offers something for everyone.

Our friendly expert guides will impart detailed, intriguing information about all of the wildlife that you will encounter, as well as telling tales of shipwrecks, legends and history.

Ramsey Island has particularly spectacular scenery. On this trip we will explore echoing sea caves, towering rock gorges, see complex and intricate geology and sit under the staggeringly tall sea cliffs. Experience the tidal race of Ramsey Sound and the notorious Bitches reef, which we will navigate in our purpose built vessel, an unrivalled experience of the power of the ocean.

What you can expect to see:

During the spring and early summer, the sea cliffs of Ramsey teem with thousands of breeding seabirds, such as guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes. Ramsey is also home to rare species such as the peregrine falcon and the chough.

The star of the show year round seems to be the Atlantic grey seal, for which Ramsey is one of the largest breeding colonies in the UK. We regularly encounter a pod of harbour porpoise as they feed in the tidal waters of the Sound.
